Privacy¶
Mountain Research is a private site of Colorado mountain research, run by Kyle Knutson for a small group of climbers he invites. This page says what it keeps about you and why.
What is kept¶
When you sign in and ask for access, the site stores, in a database only Kyle can read:
- Your Google account email — how the site knows it is you.
- Your 14ers.com username and checklist number — to read which peaks you have climbed.
- The city you drive from, and a street address only if you give one — for drive-time estimates.
- Your climbed peaks, read from your public 14ers.com checklists and refreshed from time to time.
Your name from Google is used to greet you at the top of the page. It is not stored.
Who sees it¶
- Other approved climbers on this site can see which peaks you have climbed, and filter the reports by it. That is the point of the site: planning days that work for everyone.
- Your email, city and address are never shown to other climbers. Kyle sees them when approving access.
- Nothing is sold, shared, or used for advertising. There are no ad or analytics trackers.
Cookies¶
The site sets cookies only to keep you signed in. They are not readable by the page's own scripts, and are not used to track you.
Where it lives¶
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Sign-in is through Google, handled by Supabase, which also holds the database.
Removing your information¶
Email kyleg.knutson@gmail.com and ask. Your access and everything above will be deleted.
